What you will do:

The Warehouse Lead is responsible for keeping the warehouse and ice cream freezer areas in a safe, sanitary, and efficient working order. As this position is the last set of eyes to see the product prior to it leaving to the customer they will be responsible for inspecting all pallets of product and the trailers prior to loading. Ensure that all steps to maintain an accurate database for the inventory are taken.

This includes verifying the proper inventory of ingredients are staged and consumed to production work orders, proper inventory of ingredients and finished goods are maintained, and the proper rotation and shipping of finished goods to outside customers in the D365 system.

Here’s a day in the life:
  • Assists with the management in the daily shipments of customer orders.
  • Assists with the supervision of activities of department employees, , and coordinates with other departments to assure production availability.
  • Train shipping and cold store personnel.
  • Directs the shipment of customer orders as presented on bill‑of‑ladings.
  • Assures proper rotation of products to be shipped and consumed.
  • Creates load information for customer orders.
  • Account for product transfers, shipments, and receipts of cold storage operations.
  • Manages shipment and receipt of ice cream and ingredients to and from outside storage.
  • SOP annual review, updates, development, and training.
  • Works with QA Department to assure the products are suitable for shipment and receiving.
  • Performs daily production transfers and ingredient consumptions in the D365 system.
  • Creates and prints pick tickets as needed.
  • Enters production data and shipping data into appropriate Excel files and/or D365 system.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Assists with the management of the daily shipments of customer orders.
  • Assists with the supervision of activities of department employees, and coordinates with other departments to assure product availability.
  • Actively resolve Inventory discrepancies.
  • Work closely with manager on implementing process and standardized SOP’s.
  • Operate the company box truck to transport ice cream production materials (e.g., ingredients, packaging, and other dry/ambient supplies) between the offsite dry storage warehouse and the Decatur production plant. Responsibilities include safe loading and unloading, securing loads, completing required vehicle inspection documentation, and following all applicable company vehicle and safety policies.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

High school diploma or GED; or one to three years food production or production/manufacturing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Compensation

This is an hourly position with a starting wage of $26.57.

Working Conditions

Production:
Space can be crowded with manufacturing equipment. Must remain aware of forklift traffic. Noisy; some areas can be dusty. May encounter extremes in temperature. Requires standing the majority of the shift, occasionally walking on uneven, slippery surfaces. Duties may include lifting up to 55 pounds and maneuvering heavy equipment and/or parts.
