Responsible for operating heavy equipment used for moving or grading earth, applying concrete, asphalt and other materials.

Specific

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate graders, roller booms, dozers, scrapers, blades, loaders, etc.
  • Move levers, depress foot pedals and turn dials to operate power machinery such as power shovels, stripping shovels, scraper loaders and backhoes.
  • Inspect equipment for safety issues daily and determine if any parts are malfunctioning.
  • Clean, maintain, and lubricate equipment.
  • Understand the use of equipment in various jobs.
  • Complete job tickets, service quality summaries, and other necessary paperwork.
  • Lift, position, and place machinery, equipment or other large objects at construction sites and industrial facilities.
  • Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy.
  • Take actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, and falling objects.
  • Start engines, move throttles, switches, and levers, and depress pedals to operate machines.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Certification / License:
State issued Driver’s License and TWIC.

Experience:

3-5 years of operating equipment in an industrial setting.
