Assistant Construction Maintenance SuperintendentThe Assistant Construction Maintenance Superintendent assists in managing daily operations and provides leadership and supervision to employees in the Construction Maintenance Division, which includes street maintenance, underground utilities, fleet maintenance, and parks. The Assistant Construction Maintenance Superintendent is responsible for ensuring quality performance in the maintenance, repair, and construction of Village streets, water distribution, and sewer (storm and sanitary) collection systems, fleet, parks, and other property that falls within the Division.
The Assistant Superintendent provides direct management and oversight of fleet maintenance operations and supervision of the fleet maintenance employees.

Education and/or Experience Requirements include a high school diploma or G.E.D., a minimum of three (3) years of hands-on vehicle maintenance and repair experience, and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in municipal streets, fleet, parks, and underground utility maintenance and/or construction. Two (2) years of supervisory experience is preferred. Requirements may be any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
Certificates, Licenses, Training
A valid State of Illinois Driver’s License is required upon hire. A Class A CDL with Air Brake and Tanker endorsement or the ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire date. Must complete the required National Incident Management (NIMS) training courses within one year of employment, and Mechanic certification by the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) is required in at least four (4) fields, including truck and automobile, within six (6) months.
