Project Manager – VA National Acquisition Center
Location: Hines, IL (Onsite – VA National Acquisition Center)
Clearance: Ability to obtain Public Trust
Employment Type: Full‑time
Salary: $130,000-$150,000
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead sustainment, modernization, and enhancement activities for the VA National Acquisition Center Contract Management (NAC CM) system
. This role oversees delivery of database, application, and security services in alignment with federal IT governance standards and strict SLA requirements.
The Project Manager will serve as the primary liaison to VA leadership and ensure high‑quality, timely execution across all technical and operational work streams.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the primary point of contact for the VA Contracting Officer (CO) and Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR)
- Manage project schedules, milestones, deliverables, and resource assignments
- Coordinate activities across SQL/database, application development, and security teams
- Oversee SLA compliance, including maintaining 98% system availability
- Lead weekly status meetings and produce monthly performance reports
- Maintain and manage risk logs, mitigation plans, and issue tracking
- Coordinate release cycles, sprint planning, and backlog prioritization
- Support quarterly database performance and utilization reporting
- Ensure optional CLIN activities do not impact primary CLIN SLA performance
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience supporting federal IT programs
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (mandatory)
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
- Strong understanding of federal IT governance and compliance
- Experience managing multi‑disciplinary technical teams
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and reporting skills
- Proven ability to manage complex schedules and competing priorities
