Overview

Provides continuous telemetry monitoring for detection of arrhythmias and other problems in adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

Pay

USD $17.60/Hr. – USD $28.15/Hr.

Qualifications
  • Understanding of medical terminology.
  • Experience in arrhythmia detection.
  • Must be able to complete departmental training in basic physiology, interpretation of arrhythmias and operation of equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Completes all annual education requirements; correctly identifies life‑threatening arrhythmias.
  • Documents on rhythm strips according to established guidelines.
  • Operates telemetry equipment.
  • Performs proper prep technique and placement of electrodes.
  • Maintains a clear picture.
  • Keeps log books current.
  • Hand carries rhythm sheets to floors for proper placement in chart.
  • Communicates rhythm changes to R.N. or M.D. according to established guidelines.
  • Cares for equipment and work area.
  • Troubleshoots telemetry units to obtain quality view.
  • Keeps area neat and well stocked.
  • When assigned one‑on‑one care to a patient that is perceived to be harmful to themselves or others, positions self in patient room at bedside to maintain constant visual observation of the patient and remain within arm’s length of patient. Never leaves the patient alone or out of sight unless specifically instructed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
