Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an outpatient position with at least one year of experience and a current IL license.

Responsibilities

• Outpatient physical therapy setting in an acute care, Level II Trauma hospital

• Day shift options include 4x10s (8:00-18:30) or 5x8s (8:00-16:30)

• No weekend shifts required unless desired by clinician

• Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed

• Cerner EMR system is used for documentation; prior experience preferred but not required

• No on-call requirement

• Main duties include assessment, treatment planning, and outpatient rehabilitation for diverse patient populations

• Up to five days of non-holiday time off will be auto-approved; more requires facility approval

• Team-based environment within a 372-bed acute care facility

• Non-billable orientation modules completed virtually on the first day

• First-time travelers are accepted for this position

• Parking permit is provided at no cost; to be coordinated during orientation

• Former staff must have a 12-month break in service before returning as a traveler

Requirements

• Valid state of Illinois PT license required; license required if applicable

• Current BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross required (RQI cards not accepted)

• Minimum one year of recent outpatient physical therapy experience required

• Must arrive three business days prior to start for fingerprints if not licensed in Illinois

• Demonstrated ability to float as needed within scope

• Must be able to work 2 out of 3 major holidays if assignment covers those dates

• Royal blue scrubs required
