Payroll Specialist

The Kelly Group is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist for its Decatur, Illinois office. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of clerical and/or accounting experience.

• Payroll practices and procedures: knowledge of Federal, State, and local employment regulations and tax processing
• Efficient data input skills maintaining critical accuracy
• Divisional/job financial reporting, payroll liabilities and accruals
• Perform necessary paperwork for employee setup, garnishments, and taxes, and research and resolve discrepancies, missing information and employee inquiries
• Knowledge of the payroll cycle and the impact on the general ledger

• Multi-state payroll experience with strong analytical background
• Knowledge of time and material and contract practices
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
• Understanding the monthly and quarterly payroll filings
• Excellent customer and employee communication
• Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality
