Architectural Designer

Barry Architecture is part of a nationwide collaborative group of architects/designers. Our main focus is multi unit residential projects and commercial buildouts but we have a broad experience base and have quite a variety of projects across the country. Barry Architecture leads the Chicago projects and the workload growing beyond our current capacity.

Currently this is a contract position located in the Greater Chicago Area for an Architectural Designer. The Architectural Designer will be responsible for developing concepts, creating architectural designs, and preparing construction drawings. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with the design team, conducting site analysis and ensuring compliance with local codes and regulations. The role requires close attention to detail and collaboration with project teams to deliver high-quality architectural solutions.

• Proficiency in Architecture and Architectural Design, with demonstrable experience in creating innovative and functional solutions
• Experience in Construction Drawings and Drawing, with strong technical drafting skills and attention to detail
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Proficiency in Revit is a must have
• Familiarity with building codes, zoning regulations, and other compliance standards
• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field; a professional license or certification is a plus
• The position is predominately remote but the candidate must be in (or near) Chicago to visit projects and attend meetings.
