Position: Prevention Program Manager I

Job Summary

The Prevention Program Manager I supports the delivery of integrated HIV/STI services at the Decatur site, including PEP and PrEP services and outreach. This entry‑level management role oversees frontline Prevention staff, supports clinic operations and administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations. The role monitors staff performance against departmental KPIs and grant deliverables and facilitates Prevention‑focused support groups.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage staff schedules to ensure effective delivery of Prevention services, including appropriate staffing for outreach activities and community‑based events.
  • Cultivate new community partnerships and maintain existing relationships to expand off‑site HIV testing opportunities.
  • Provide direct client services as needed to support daily operations, including participation in the testing rotation, attending outreach events, and delivering on‑site HIV/STI testing services.
  • Ensure all frontline staff meet data metrics, including those related to grant deliverables.
  • Collaborate with other Prevention Program Managers to conduct monthly chart audits to ensure compliance, data accuracy, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Conduct monthly staff QIQAs to ensure compliance with pre‑ and post‑test counseling and service provision.
  • Oversee ordering, tracking, and maintenance of medical supplies; monitor inventory levels to keep Preventive activities fully stocked and operational.
  • Coordinate onboarding and training for new frontline staff in collaboration with current staff and other Program Managers, ensuring staff are equipped with necessary knowledge and skills.
  • Provide administrative oversight of Prevention support groups and attend sessions to assist with facilitation.
  • Identify new community resources and ensure staff have access to up‑to‑date tools, referrals, and support materials to meet client needs effectively.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of PrEP, STIs, HIV/AIDS and the target population; experience with people living with HIV/AIDS is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a multicultural setting, including working with target populations, volunteers, agency staff, and the Board of Directors.
  • Self‑starter able to multi‑task and work independently.
  • Strong problem‑solving, decision‑making, and teamwork abilities.
  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software.
  • Ability to follow policies and procedures, including conflict of interest policy.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, social work, psychology, sociology, or related health and human services field.
  • Equivalent combination of training and experience providing required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Completion of HIV Counseling and Testing Course preferred.
  • Valid state driver’s license required.
Travel

Must be able to travel between all PIHC locations and attend external meetings; reliable transportation is required.

Physical Demands

The role requires frequent sitting and talking, occasional walking, use of hands, lifting up to 30 lbs, and adequate vision. Reasonable accommodations can be made for disabilities.

Full‑time, exempt position reporting to Senior Prevention Program Manager.
