Veterinary Technician – Saint Francis Veterinary Specialists in Decatur, GA is seeking a Full-Time Oncology Technician to join our team. Saint Francis Veterinary Specialists specializes in emergency care, internal medicine, oncology, and surgery for dogs and cats in Decatur, Atlanta, Midtown, Dekalb, and Gwinnett. Provide your best care with more bridges and fewer barriers. We are seeking an Oncology Veterinary Technician to join us as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community. As an Oncology Veterinary Technician, you will provide end-to-end care for our patients, from hands-on treatment and laboratory testing to admitting and discharging patients, in collaboration with our oncologist and state-of-the-art equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
  • Assist with hospital functions to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
  • Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with your state's Veterinary Practice Act for credentialed veterinary technicians.
  • Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and provide guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments.
  • Maintain relevant, comprehensive medical records with practice systems support.
  • Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
  • Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
  • Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.
Experience & Skills Requirements
  • Veterinary technician licensure preferred, but not required
  • 1-2 years of clinical experience
  • An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program preferred; or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
