Position: Med-Surg Nurse (RN) in Decatur, GA
Deliver nursing care in a fast-paced, 32-bed unit specializing in adult and older adult populations. This role involves managing trauma patients, administering heparin drips, and providing all acute medications as ordered. The position requires experience with med/telemetry and familiarity with specialty equipment such as gait belts, geriatric chairs, and physical therapy devices. Team members work with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 5:1, ensuring focused and attentive care.

Key

Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse (RN) with medical-surgical (MS) experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certification
• Documented experience with medication administration and telemetry
• Proficiency with specialty equipment relevant to skilled nursing and rehabilitation
• Prior NICHE training is a strong advantage
• Ability to work efficiently within a trauma care environment and acute medication protocols
• Experience using electronic medical records, excluding EPIC EMR, preferred

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric trauma patients
• Monitor and administer medications, including continuous infusions such as heparin drips
• Employ proper use of gait belts, geriatric chairs, and PT equipment to support patient mobility and safety
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate, thorough documentation and comply with hospital policies
• Adhere to ratio standards to deliver high-quality nursing care consistently
