Duties
  • Develop budgets, monitor attainment, pursue revenue receipt, and oversee expenditures to achieve corporate goals.
  • Manage risks in service execution to reduce exposure to litigation, unauthorized scope creep, and out‑of‑scope performance.
  • Provide quarterly and annual revenue projections and monitor goal achievement.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with current and prospective clients.
  • Lead or participate in regional office business development programs.
  • Prepare, assist in preparing, and approve proposals and qualification statements.
  • Act as consultant to departments, project managers, and regional office principals.
  • Serve as Project Manager, Project Principle, or Project Director.
  • Implement and oversee compliance with administrative activities including human resources, training programs, and health and safety.
  • Plan, schedule, coordinate, monitor, and report on service delivery to clients.
  • Identify needs for and evaluate development of personnel competency.
  • Review implementation of established procedures and apply preventive and corrective actions for compliance.
  • Follow established processes or help develop them to assure cost‑effective application of technologies and services.
  • Initiate and support quality‑management activities and performance‑management measures to provide high‑quality services.
  • Protect RKI’s confidential financial, business, and marketing plans and operational documents.
  • Establish a positive and progressive culture within the RKI office and project locations that maximizes overall corporate performance and staff development.
  • Provide technical and professional development of staff.
  • Maintain licensure or certifications during employment.
  • Interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate assignments.
  • Review procedures of assigned supervisors and clarify procedures.
  • Assign work priority tasks to assigned direct reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • P.E. license in applicable state, or out‑of‑state license obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • Twenty‑five (25) years progressively responsible experience in transportation engineering, including fifteen (15) years in personnel, service delivery, and financial management.
  • Valid driver’s license within the applicable jurisdiction and meet firm’s auto insurability requirements.
  • Good oral and written communication skills and ability to maintain effective working relationships with internal and external personnel.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to travel to project sites and navigate rough and uneven terrain.
Physical Requirements

Employees are required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, reach, and drive vehicles over short and long distances. They may need to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift or move up to 25 pounds. Vision requires close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception. Noise levels may be loud. Employees may be exposed to elevated or uneven surfaces, fumes, chemicals, wet or humid conditions, extreme temperatures, electrical shock, radiation, vibration, and moving mechanical parts, especially while outdoors.

Positions may require irregular working hours, frequent travel to Raba Kistner offices, client locations, and project sites.
