The Role
We’re seeking experts who can empower youth, inspire recovery, and build a future.
Are you a Certified Peer Specialist for the youth (CSP-Y) and passionate about helping young people find hope, healing, and a path forward? At Clifton Springs MHC, we’re looking for someone, with lived experience, who’s ready to make a difference in the lives of adolescents and young adults with navigating behavioral health challenges. As a CPS-Y, you’ll serve as a critical connector between young people, their families, and the resources they need to thrive.
Through mentorship, support coordination, and life skills coaching, you'll help emerging adults develop the tools and confidence they need to succeed.
Schedule
- 3 days: 8:15 AM – 5:00 PM
- 2 days: 10:15 AM – 7:00 PM
Job Responsibilities
- Coordination - Serve as the primary coordinator of behavioral health services for your caseload.
- Build Rapport - Building rapport and trust with adolescents and young adults.
- Connecting To Resources - Linking individuals to services like psychiatric, substance use, crisis prevention, medical, and social supports.
- Weekly Connections - Making weekly contact with individuals, with at least 50% of services provided face-to-face and 80% in community settings.
- Partnerships - Coordinating with schools, families, social workers, and other system partners.
- Staying In Touch - Attending and participating in community events, outreach efforts, and support networks.
- Navigation - Helping clients navigate life transitions, build independence, and reach personal goals.
- Documentation - Keeping clear and timely documentation of all contacts and supports.
Candidate Qualifications
- Valid Driver’s License - A valid Georgia Driver’s License and reliable transportation. Must complete agency-sponsored trainings, including defensive driving.
- Work Settings - Ability to work in both community and office-based settings.
- Flexible Schedule - Willingness to provide a flexible schedule (some evening/weekend availability).
Desired Candidates Will Have
- Lived experience navigating youth mental health or substance use challenges.
- Experience working with diverse populations and comfort engaging across cultures.
- Strong communication, organization, and peer mentoring skills.
- Self-starter mindset and a passion for empowering others.
- Tech-savvy enough to manage documentation, email, and scheduling tasks.
- Community-based work including home visits, public buildings, and agency offices.
- Occasional weekend hours for community events or client needs.
