Position: CMOM Coordinator Assistant (Capacity, Management, Operations, and Maintenance) Wastewater

Overview

The purpose of this classification is to assist the CMOM Coordinator with the Capacity, Management Operations, and Maintenance Programs for Wastewater Collections Systems in the Department of Watershed Management.

Salary and Classification

Salary Range: $61,009 - $98,224
Salary Grade: 20

Essential Functions
  • The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
  • Monitors department compliance with state and federal regulations for the wastewater collection system, and county/departmental policies and procedures.
  • Develops and submits reports to the EPA and EPD on wastewater collection system compliance.
  • Establishes and tracks performance measures and key performance indicators for various activities and reporting requirements within the department. Analyzes data and prepares briefing summaries for assigned projects.
  • Researches and assists with preparation of agenda items for budget committee and Board of Commissioners.
  • Coordinates the completion of public information including developing news releases and public information/educational materials. Coordinates and attends community meetings and workshops. Designs and coordinates workshops for new departmental systems.
  • Provides support and technical expertise to management and staff to ensure departmental effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Manages inspection and compliance with wastewater collection system regulations and permits, including Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG) Program.
  • Develops preventive maintenance plans and programs for the reduction of FOG in the wastewater collection system.
  • Receives and investigates complaints and inquiries, prepares proper response for Director review, and refers matters as appropriate to other departments and agencies.
  • Develops training plans for Watershed Management employees regarding CMOM programs.
  • Assists in sanitary sewer overflow investigations and prevention.
  • Reviews the adequacy of Watershed Management's wastewater collection system capacity management and assurance.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Environmental Science, Biology, or other related discipline; three years' experience managing operational activities and regulatory requirements for a large-scale wastewater collection system operation.

Specific License or Certification Required: Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
