Under direct supervision, develops and reviews online courses aligned to district curricular standards and that meet district‑identified curricular needs; provides quality online and face‑to‑face instruction that implements the curriculum for assigned students; establishes, fosters, facilitates and maintains a safe and secure virtual classroom environment that is conducive to learning; employs innovative problem‑solving techniques to accomplish assigned virtual learning program objectives. This position requires proficient to advanced instructional technology skills including the ability to master various technology tools used to support virtual learning.

• Facilitates migration of course content to digital format utilizing the district's board‑approved learning management system that is consistent with all district and virtual academy policies and procedures as well as research‑based pedagogy for online and blended instruction.
• Collaborates with the Curriculum and Instructional Division to ensure course content is accurate, rigorous, and aligned to the district's curricular goals and initiatives.
• Coordinates and implements a virtual and blended environment that is conducive to student learning which includes preparing engaging lesson plans, instructional aids, and supplemental teaching materials.
• Identifies, selects and modifies digital instructional resources to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
• Assesses, documents and prepares reports such as achievement progress, grade and classroom performance, and attendance for assigned students.
• Participates in student development and achievement related conferences with assigned students, parents, counselors, teachers, principal, and/or administrators.
• Assists with the district‑wide development and implementation of personalized learning, virtual and credit recovery programs.
• Maintains ongoing professional development to ensure knowledge and implementation of effective online pedagogies, student support strategies, and technology tools and digital resource awareness and integration.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree from a Professional Standards Commission approved accredited college or university in relevant educational field is required.
• A minimum of three years of successful classroom teaching experience is required.
• Proficiency in content standards, differentiation, and intervention strategies is required.
• Proficiency in using learning management systems, Office 365, and digital learning tools is required.

• Valid Professional Standards Commission approved certificate at level T‑4 or above in appropriate field is required.
• Valid Professional Standards Commission approved Online Teaching Endorsement is preferred.
