Job Description
Salary Range: $22.32/hour - $35.94/hour (FLSA: Nonexempt)
Purpose of ClassificationThe purpose of this classification is to plan, coordinate, and deliver public education and training programs for schools, neighborhood and community organizations, businesses, and the general public.
Essential Functions- Plan, organize, and develop educational programming in assigned specialty; research and develop curricula and presentations; prepare activities and audiovisual materials; secure locations and dates for programs; coordinate and schedule programs with participants; and set up for programs.
- Deliver educational programs; conduct training and education programs in a variety of settings and for a variety of audiences, including students, teachers, volunteer groups, neighborhood and community organizations, businesses, other County staff, and the general public; facilitate tours, workshops, contests, and special events; and respond to inquiries and follow-up questions related to educational topics.
- Solicit and coordinate volunteers; explain and promote volunteer programs; schedule, train, and assist volunteers in completing assignments.
- Track educational program data; compile data related to program participation, costs, and effectiveness; conduct surveys to collect participant feedback; and prepare related reports.
- Research and stay abreast of changes in the assigned field/specialty.
- Process a variety of documentation associated with department/division operations, within designated time frames and per established procedures; receive and review various documentation, reports, or forms.
- Communicate with department staff, supervisor, other employees, schools, community groups, volunteers, the public, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems.
Associate degree in Public Relations, Communications, or a field of study directly related to the departmental mission required; three years of experience in training, communications, or a related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Specific License or Certification RequiredMust possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
