Position Overview

The Montessori Assistant Teacher will support the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, engaging, and loving classroom that follows Montessori principles and supports each child’s individual development. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about early childhood education and has hands-on experience working with infants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing Montessori practices in the infant classroom
  • Support daily care routines, including feeding, diapering, and nap schedules
  • Observe and respond to infants’ developmental and emotional needs
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and prepared classroom environment
  • Foster warm, respectful relationships with children, families, and staff
  • Follow all state licensing and school policies and procedures
Qualifications
  • Minimum of an Associate Degree (Early Childhood Education or related field preferred)
  • 3–5 years of experience working with infants in a childcare or Montessori setting
  • Knowledge of Montessori philosophy (formal Montessori training is a plus)
  • Patience, warmth, and a genuine love for working with infants
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
