Position OverviewReporting to the VP, Commercial Finance, this position is responsible for financial and business analysis and provides key insights into business unit performance. This role will be pivotal in driving financial awareness, measuring performance, and supporting profitable growth through data‑driven insights and commercial acumen. The key stakeholders for this role are: VP Commercial Finance and business unit leaders including general managers, sales, and operations.
Location:
Decatur, in person 5 days/week
- Lead the delivery of financial reporting and analysis to senior business unit leadership, ensuring accuracy and providing development and insights of key performance metrics to deliver business unit and company targets.
- Function as a trusted business partner to cross‑functional teams, including business unit leaders, sales, and operations by providing financial insights and recommendations that drive business outcomes.
- Oversee the business insights of detailed budgets and forecasts ensuring alignment with corporate goals and operational capacity.
- Work closely with business leaders to influence strategic decisions, such as pricing, product profitability.
- Conduct monthly detailed customer and product variance analysis on commercial performance and provide actionable recommendations for growth and margin improvement.
- Partner with operational teams to evaluate fabrication costs, analyze cost drivers, and recommend strategies to improve margins.
- BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related discipline and 3+ years of financial or FP&A experience.
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex data, draw conclusions, and present actionable insights.
- Strong Commercial Mindset – Understands the client’s and/or business unit’s needs and strategically balances them with Construction Resources’ business goals. Remains curious, asks questions, stays flexible, serves others, and delivers on commitments.
- High attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced and complex business environment.
- Strong leadership with a collaborative approach.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with strong people skills, including the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the organization.
- Uses business acumen, functional expertise, and organizational resources to responsibly challenge the “status quo” and deliver creative and feasible solutions.
- Tenacity to operate and deliver within a changing business environment and demonstrate resilience at times of high pressure.
- Microsoft skills – especially in Excel. Demonstrated knowledge and ability to create, utilize, support, and explain complex spreadsheet models.
- Data Modelling skills – Electronic Data Warehouse (EDW) / Power BI and other data analytics tools and techniques are a plus.
