Basic Job Functions

This entry‑level position is responsible for numerous production related duties including moving and organizing materials, following production schedules, and preparing, galvanizing, and finishing materials. The role works closely with Production Supervisors and Leads to ensure an organized and efficient flow of materials through the plant while meeting daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly goals. Racking and Finishing teammates are responsible for hanging/removing product from fixtures and correcting any imperfections caused during the galvanizing process.

DUTIES
  • Hanging and preparing materials for the galvanizing process in a safe and organized manner
  • Operating overhead cranes and/or forklifts as necessary
  • File or grind excess zinc, ash or drip marks from ends of product, deburr and clean threads on steel products produced by the hot‑dipping process
  • Follow proper repair procedures for uncoated areas (grinding and painting)
  • Use zinc‑based alloys (hot stick), paints containing zinc dust, and sprayed zinc (metallizing) on steel products
  • Clean, package, and finish materials after the galvanizing process is complete
  • Track all materials on site, both company stock and customer materials

  • High School diploma or equivalent

Preferences
  • At least one year experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience operating mobile equipment
