Scope
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating night-shift manufacturing operations to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency. This role leads production teams, manages daily workflow, enforces standards, and supports continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced metals manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate all night-shift production activities to meet production schedules and output goals
- Lead, train, coach, and evaluate production staff to ensure skill development, accountability, and engagement
- Ensure compliance with safety policies, OSHA regulations, and company procedures at all times
- Monitor product quality and process performance, addressing issues and implementing corrective actions as needed
- Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to resolve production, equipment, and quality concerns
- Coordinate equipment repairs and preventive maintenance activities to minimize downtime
- Track and report key performance metrics, including productivity, scrap, downtime, and labor utilization
- Enforce standard operating procedures and drive continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
- Conduct shift handovers and communicate production status, issues, and priorities to management
- Maintain accurate production records and documentation
- Prior supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the metals industry
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality control standards
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams in a production setting
- Experience managing night-shift operations is strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of safety regulations and best practices in an industrial environment
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills - Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
- High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field preferred
- 3–5+ years of experience in metals manufacturing, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead role
