Position Purpose

Responsible for leading Turbine Services personnel at a specific site in the planning, preparation, execution, and demobilization for fleet turbine generator outages, turbine valve/feed pump turbine outages, forced turbine generator related outages and other assigned work.

Job Dimensions

Supervisory Responsibility:
Oversight of 2 to 5 Turbine Services personnel at all times based on assigned area of responsibility. During outages this individual is responsible for up to 200 personnel in the execution of outage requirements.

Budget Responsibility:
Responsible for developing and implementing budgets of $10‑$30 million annually.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Lead the preparation and execution of turbine generator outage activities and other assigned work.
  • Ensure high standards and technical proficiency are developed in the site turbine services team and are maintained.
  • Foster development of assigned Turbine Services teams.
  • Interface with site and fleet personnel to coordinate work activities including meeting outage milestones.
  • Develop and maintain Turbine Services playbooks for services provided.
  • Serve as the Contract Technical Steward (CTS) for assigned work and perform necessary oversight in accordance with NPG-SPP-07.7.
  • Coordinate with vendors to improve TVA Turbine Services.
  • Capture learnings (including pre‑outage readiness and post‑outage critiques), delays and gaps in performance using the Corrective Action Program (CAP), and manage all CAP assignments.
  • Provide/coordinate reviewer functions for procedures related to Turbine Generator maintenance.
  • Support site related meetings as needed to ensure Turbine Generator pre‑outage and outage related activities remain in the scheduled weeks, resources loaded correctly with the appropriate support groups.
  • Ensure that proper communication plans are in place both with task‑managed personnel and to the site/fleet.
  • Manage the site Turbine Generator related budgets.
  • Perform field observations of task‑managed personnel and the site Turbine Services personnel and document them in the appropriate observation program.
Education

Bachelor degree in a science or engineering subject or equivalent training and/or experience.

Experience

Eight years of experience in the nuclear industry including five years in a supervisory role. Previous experience in Project Management and Field Oversight desired. Background in nuclear Turbine Generator maintenance activities desired.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of nuclear plant outage management standards. Must have demonstrated successful leadership skills, be able to obtain and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access and, as required, a security clearance. Must be able to travel 25–35% of the time in support of the TVA fleet.
