Special Ed Teacher - Decatur, Alabama

An opportunity is available for a full-time Special Education Teacher to support K-3rd grade students in a school setting located in Decatur, AL. This role is a contract position running ASAP through May 21st, 2026, with a focus on providing specialized instruction primarily to students with Autism.

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs
• Deliver specialized instruction in a K-3 classroom environment, adapting teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to promote inclusive education
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as necessary
• Maintain a structured, supportive, and safe learning environment that fosters student growth and engagement

• Active Alabama Special Education (SPED) teaching license required
• Experience working with young children, particularly those with Autism, preferred
• Strong understanding of special education principles and legal requirements
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
• Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive educational environment
