Senior Software Engineer – Anchor
Lead the development of Ford’s eCommerce microservices platform, leveraging Java, Spring, and GCP technologies to build a scalable, cloud‑native architecture.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical guidance and support throughout the software development life cycle.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, Dev Ops, and QA teams to design and deliver a scalable micro‑services platform.
- Write high‑quality, reusable, and testable code that adheres to industry best practices and standards.
- Build reusable frameworks and work closely with Dev Ops to ensure high availability, scalability, and fault tolerance.
- Handle operational issues with minimal oversight.
- Conduct code reviews and enforce standards, patterns, and architecture principles.
- Maintain technical documentation and user guides for the platform.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of object‑oriented development experience, with expertise building microservices architectures on the JVM.
- Proficiency with Spring (MVC, Boot, JDBC, Cloud) and CI/CD tooling (Tekon, Git Hub Actions, or similar).
- 5+ years of applying clean code principles, test‑driven development (TDD/BDD), Extreme Programming, and continuous refactoring.
- 2+ years of experience with code compliance tools such as Sonarqube, 42
Crunch, and FOSSA. - 2+ years of working with GCP services like Cloud Run, Cloud
SQL, and Pub/Sub. - 1+ year of experience with Angular or React.

This position is hybrid (onsite four days per week) for candidates within commuting distance to a Ford hub location or remote for non‑local candidates.
