DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF WORK:
This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of vehicles for an assigned division. Responsibilities may include calibrating related systems; repairing various equipment and vehicles; and maintaining inventory. May act as lead worker to employees in lower classifications.
TYPICAL CLASS ESSENTIAL DUTIES: (See online posting for complete job description)
* Installs, calibrates, programs, operates, and/or repairs controls associated with salting streets and related systems.
* Repairs various equipment and vehicles, including: repairing sweepers; repairing pumps and valves; repairing plows; repairing bulldozers; repairing graders; and repairing related equipment and vehicles.
* Orders parts and supplies and maintains proper inventory levels.
* Trains staff in operating trucks and equipment.
* Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance, including attendance at required meetings.
