RN Unit Manager – Units D & E (Adult Units)

Location:

Metropolitan Behavioral Health (a UHS Facility)

A 144‑bed behavioral health facility providing a full continuum of inpatient services to adults, adolescents, and older adults, including specialty programs and 24‑hour behavioral health assessments. The facility also offers outpatient programs with group, family, and individual therapy, and co‑occurring behavioral health and substance‑use treatment.

Position Summary:

The Unit Manager supervises all nursing staff and mental health technicians on two or more units, providing administrative and clinical leadership. The role coordinates with department directors and hospital administration to ensure efficient operations and supports the Nursing Leaders On Call rotation. Key responsibilities include staff training, supervision, evaluation, delegation, scheduling, and performing direct patient care. The manager works closely with physicians and other department managers.

Education:

Graduate from an accredited professional nursing program; BSN preferred.

Experience:

Minimum five years of progressive nursing leadership experience, staff education, and 24‑hour shift staffing experience.

Licensure:
Currently licensed by the state of Michigan as an RN.

Additional Requirements:

Knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA, state federal regulatory requirements; current CPR certification.
