Advanced Practice Provider will see patients with same-day appointments in a primary care clinic setting. Candidates must be licensed to see patients of ALL ages. Schedule is days, Monday–Friday. One weekend morning per month is required.
Responsibilities- Provide health care and specialized health services to patients and families enrolled in Primary Care Medicine.
- Coordinate care of this patient population in collaboration with all members of the health care team.
- Deliver 100% outpatient care.
- Obtain patient history, perform physical examinations, order and interpret tests, make diagnoses, and institute appropriate treatment programs.
- Independently evaluate patients in the clinic.
- Order/interrogate testing and lab results, modify plan of care to address findings.
- Provide clinical expertise and direction to support patient medication management.
- Maintain accurate documentation regarding patient status, evaluations, and treatments to physicians.
- Streamline patient transfer process between levels of care, including communicating specific patient needs to internal and external team members and other ambulatory care providers.
- Perform other related duties as required to assure patient safety and satisfaction.
- Participate in the development and presentation of educational experiences for patients, families, and health care professionals.
Provides inpatient and/or outpatient medical care. Takes patient history, performs physical examination, orders, and interprets tests, makes diagnoses, and institutes appropriate treatment programs. Works in collaboration with staff physicians, house officers, nurses, and other medical care team members to ensure patient outcomes are achieved safely and efficiently. Specific procedures are individually credentialed as indicated by training and experience.
Education / ExperienceMaster’s degree in nursing.
Certifications / Licenses- Certified Nurse Practitioner.
- Registered Nurse.
- Current BLS or ACLS as required.
- Current ATLS/PALS provider status as required by department.
- Requires Master’s Degree in Nursing; licensure as a Certified Nurse Practitioner; licensure as a Registered Nurse and certification in one of the following: ANA certification exam in a nursing specialty field;
National Certification Corporation (NCC);
National Certification Board of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Associates; and/or certification from Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner (NP). -OR- requires a Bachelor’s Degree, completion of an AMA-approved Physician Assistant program;
Licensure as a Physician Assistant. - Current BLS or ACLS as required. Current ATLS/PALS provider status as required by department.
- Ideal candidates will have 1–2 years’ experience as an APP.
