** Compensation**$20.33 - $25.22(Based on Experience)
** Summary
* * The Water Technician performs duties in water plant operations including chemical analysis and treatment, process operation and maintenance of plant equipment. You will operate basic water treatment plant equipment and processes to continually monitor plant-wide operations. Take equipment and process readings at various locations throughout the plant. Load and unload chemicals, polymers, and other materials manually and using motorized equipment.

Collect and perform tests on water samples. Perform preventative maintenance on plant equipment. Maintain various records and prepare reports. Perform shift work which includes all day, afternoon, night, weekend and holiday assignments. Wear personal protective equipment (PPE). A valid Michigan Driver’s License and the ability to drive a motor vehicle on all terrain. Follow security and safety policies and procedures in carrying out work duties.

Provide on the job training.
** Job Responsibilities
*** Regularly inspect the working condition and maintain the cleanliness of equipment and surrounding areas.
* Clean light fixtures, replace lamps and bulbs.
* Communicate problems to team leader or members.
* Assist with clearing snow in emergency situations.
* Conduct plant tours and deliver other presentations as needed.
* Perform related work duties as assigned.
* Diagnose, repair and maintenance of plant equipment
* Monitor automated control systems, query and generate work orders
* Maintain various databases and automated records
* Take accurate measurements and keep clear and organized records
* Use and care of a variety of hand, power, pneumatic and motorized tools to perform facility and equipment maintenance and repair work
* Use basic technology
* Effectively monitor and coordinate water plant operational activities
* Accurately read gauges charts and meters
* Analyze, diagnose and perform corrective action on DCS alarms
* Effectively utilize appropriate security and safety equipment and procedures
* Maintain regular and reliable attendance
* Make arithmetic computations
* Read and interpret schematics
* Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
* Understand and follow verbal and written instructions
* Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
* Communicate frequently with the team members and other units across the Organization about process, equipment or potential problems
* Develop proficiency in unit specific operations and software
* Direct team activities or to work as a team member

Education and Experience
*** High School Diploma or GED
* Minimum of one (1) year of general laboring, treatment plant operations, mechanical maintenance and repair, facilities maintenance or electrical repair work or equivalent training in a related field
* Michigan F4 license within two (2) years of Level 1 designation
