THE ROLE
Our client is seeking a motivated Jr. Appian Developer for a 12-month hybrid/onsite engagement in Wyoming, MI. This entry-level opportunity is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, and 0-3 years of experience in software development, data engineering, IT support, or similar areas (including internships, apprenticeships, co-ops, or university capstone courses).
You will work closely with senior team members and cross-functional stakeholders to develop, test, and maintain applications on the Appian platform. The role emphasizes continuous learning, collaboration, and professional growth, with a focus on Agile methodologies and ongoing training toward Appian and other technology certifications.
- Develop, test, and maintain applications using the Appian platform under the guidance of senior team members
- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and deployment
- Collaborate with IT leadership, business stakeholders, and technical teams to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions
- Apply Agile software development methodologies to project work and actively contribute to team sprints and meetings
- Conduct unit testing and assist with troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving application issues
- Engage in ongoing training and pursue certifications related to Appian and other relevant technologies
- Demonstrate strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills in daily tasks
- Effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks independently or within a highly collaborative team environment
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- 0-3 years of experience in Software Development, Data Engineering, IT Support, or a related area (including internships, apprenticeships, co-ops, or university capstone courses)
- Experience with unit testing and a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Knowledge of Agile software development methodology
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently or collaboratively within a team
- Ability to interface effectively with IT leadership, business stakeholders, and technical teams
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Willingness and desire to work within a Software Engineering team leveraging Appian
- Desire to participate in ongoing training and pursue future certifications in Appian or other technologies
