Dice is the leading career destination for tech experts at every stage of their careers. Our client, Akkodis, is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer for a Contract with a client in Dearborn, MI. You will design, operate, and maintain enterprise servers and secure virtualized environments to support hybrid and cloud-based business operations.
Rate Range: $42/hour to $47/hour; negotiable based on experience, education, location, and other factors.
Infrastructure Engineer job responsibilities- Design, operate, and maintain enterprise servers, including specialty mainframe systems (IBM/LPARs), HPC, and hybrid/cloud environments to ensure optimal business operations.
- Research, implement, and sustain complex infrastructure solutions (e.g., data warehouses, IAM, event frameworks, containerization, and on-demand scaling) based on internal customer needs.
- Design and configure secure virtualized environments aligned with enterprise architecture, covering VMs, virtual networks, and distributed/high-speed storage (SAN, HDFS, SSD).
- Engineer or enhance monitoring solutions to validate configuration, performance, and security posture; proactively detect and remediate issues.
- Monitor and optimize resource utilization (CPU, memory, storage, network) to prevent runaway costs and ensure capacity aligns with service-level expectations.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and plan future capacity, advising enterprise architecture teams with trends and recommendations for blueprint updates.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of IT experience, including at least 2 years in infrastructure design and operations.
- Hands-on experience in server configuration and maintenance, including mainframe, hybrid, and cloud environments.
- Strong skills in virtualization, resource optimization, and monitoring tools to ensure secure and efficient system performance.
Pay Details: $42.00 to $47.00 per hour
