Position SummaryThe Music Therapist is responsible for the provision of Music Therapy services, including assessment, treatment planning, therapeutic activity interventions and discharge planning. The therapist utilizes individual and/or group interventions to bring about positive changes in the patient’s behavior—cognitive, social, emotional or physical. The therapist educates the patient in healthy coping skills and resources to support post-discharge planning and involvement. Services are provided in accordance with current standards of practice.

QualificationsEducation
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Music Therapy with Certification in Music Therapy required
- or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Recreation Therapy with a current CTRS
Experience
- One (1) year of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred
- Music Therapist-Board Certified (MT-BC) required
