Environmental Compliance Intern
Heritage Interactive Services is looking for a motivated student who is ready for hands‑on experience with RCRA (Resource Conservation and Recovery Act) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, compliance and more. You will work closely with our Program Managers at research and automotive facilities with the opportunity to gain valuable hands‑on experience managing recycling and waste. Heritage Interactive will provide RCRA and DOT training that this student can use later in their career.
Timeline:

Paid Summer Internship:
May 15th – August 4th
- Intern pay is non‑negotiable and is calculated based on current academic class standing $17/hour (Freshman) - $20/hour (Senior), etc.
Location:
Ford Dearborn and Surrounding Facilities
Job Responsibilities:
- Take RCRA and DOT training courses, then apply this knowledge to compliance for HIS customers.
- Work directly with other Heritage Program Managers to provide a in‑depth look at their facility compliance documents.
- Network with Environmental Engineers and plant staff to review their needs and provide solutions.
- Promote the HIS brand, become versed in our company mission, vision, values and purpose.
- Using external research to help find out‑lets for recycling and ways to improve sustainability goals and processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Creative thinker and problem‑solver
- Organized with ability to manage multiple tasks at once
Education/Experience Requirements:
- In 3rd or 4th year of college program preferred
- Science major preferred, examples:
Environmental, Chemistry, Geology. Other majors include math, data analysis, or related field beneficial.
