Expected hours per week: 40 hours per week
Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 8‑5 hybrid.
Pay Range: $42‑45 Per Hour
Job DescriptionThis role is responsible for driving supplier performance to exceed Ford’s standards for launch readiness, quality, capacity, warranty, and vehicle delivery. The position serves as a key interface between Ford and supplier leadership, leading cross‑functional efforts to resolve issues, prevent vehicle losses, and ensure manufacturing feasibility and compliance across assigned commodities.
Key Responsibilities- Implement commodity‑specific business plans to ensure suppliers exceed corporate targets for:
- Launch readiness
- Quality performance
- Capacity and delivery
- Warranty metrics
- Lead cross‑functional decision‑making with Ford internal teams and supplier leadership to drive timely resolution of open issues.
- Execute actions to ensure zero vehicle losses attributed to supplier‑related issues.
- Serve as the principal on‑site lead for:
- Emergency supplier situations
- Troubleshooting manufacturing and quality issues
- Driving corrective actions and containment activities
- Ensure supplier adherence to Ford quality standards, including Q1 requirements.
- Lead manufacturing feasibility assessments and validations at supplier facilities.
- Execute and manage:
- Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
- Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
- Utilize quality data, performance metrics, and supplier scorecards to:
- Drive continuous improvement
- Influence future sourcing decisions
- Improve long‑term supplier quality and performance
- Quality Management Systems
- PPAP (Production Part Approval Process)
- APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning)
- Strong problem‑solving and root‑cause analysis skills
- Cross‑functional leadership and supplier engagement
- Hands‑on experience in one or more of the following manufacturing areas:
- Casting
- Machining
- Assembly
- Battery systems
- Driveline and transmission components
- Supplier‑facing quality or manufacturing engineering experience in an automotive environment
- Bachelor of Science/ Engineering, or equivalent technical / manufacturing aptitude
