If good is just never good enough for you, Ford Quality shares your passion for striving for perfection. We’re responsible for driving the continuous improvement efforts that enable Ford to deliver the highest quality products and services. Help us drive operational excellence through such innovative, proprietary initiatives as our Global Product Development System, Quality Operating System and New Model Launch. Work cross-functionally and closely with integrated teams in Manufacturing, Product Development, Purchasing, Marketing, Sales and Service.

In this position...

Thermal Systems Program Engineers are responsible for leading the vehicle program Thermal Systems (Powertrain Cooling and Heat Management) development from pre‑program start to final sign‑off; work with the Thermal Systems CAE team to develop CAE models to design and assess future model years; develop timing and test plans for vehicle‑level testing.

To support these objectives, a Thermal Systems Program Engineer conducts and monitors the thermal development via CAE and/or physical test to optimize the vehicle's airflows (front end cooling pack & air induction) and fluid temperatures.

This job will expose the Thermal Systems Program Engineer to a large area of the vehicle being developed, primarily Powertrain, Chassis, Electrical Systems, and Body. The engineer will maintain a high degree of collaboration with multi‑functional teams to review thermal management issues, conduct root cause analysis, develop technical proposals to resolve issues, and help optimize designs.

  • Familiarity with major OEM/Ford product development process
  • 3 to 5 years of experience as a Design & Release Engineer or a Systems Engineer is a plus
