Position: Test Engineer, I

As the Test Engineer I, you will assist with coordination and execution of standardized laboratory testing to aid in the development of a high-quality process that meets Customer needs.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Technical support for organizing, executing, and coordinating Customer jobs.
  • Analyze test results and provide engineering reports that meet Customer specifications.
  • Learn to read test specifications for inertia dynamometer, vehicle, and component bench testing projects.
  • Learn to fit and function set of parts on fixture.
  • Learn to analyze rotor mapping plot data points.
  • Monitor tests in progress to ensure they are running to specification.
  • Understanding of project management fundamentals including work plans, schedules, resource plans, and status reports.
  • Understanding of gains, full scales, and frequencies.
  • Use a Windows based computer system to access relevant test procedures and quality system documents, enter measurement data, store, and retrieve files from the network, etc.
  • Work with the laboratory staff to ensure quality testing.
  • Communicate project needs on time to ensure Customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure work is performed in a safe manner using all available safety equipment.
  • All other related duties as assigned.
  • Possess mental faculties consistent with performing the minimum requirements of the job.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related Associate’s Degree with 2 years relevant work experience in an automotive engineering laboratory; equivalent related work experience also acceptable in lieu of education.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in an automotive engineering laboratory.
  • High School Diploma.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Proven knowledge of engineering testing, including methods, equipment, reporting and analysis.
  • Ability to work well in a Team environment.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong independent organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to walk.
  • Ability to speak verbally and read in English.
  • Ability to see with corrective lenses.
  • Ability to hear.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, hand‑eye coordination, and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to use a computer.
  • Able to work evenings and/or weekends as required.
  • Able to travel up to 10% domestically.
  • Normal hazards related to working in an office environment.
  • Normal hazards related to working in a manufacturing and testing environment.
  • Normal hazards related to road and air travel.
