In this position...

The Manufacturing Engineer - Industrial Designer candidate will be a part of this team and be responsible for technical ergonomic support for New Model Programs.

Qualifications

You’ll have...

  • BSc Kinesiology, BSc Engineering and/or equivalent experience of 2+ years of experience applying Ergonomic Principles in a Manufacturing Environment
  • 2+ years of experience automotive manufacturing experience
  • Extensive use of ergonomic analysis tools (Process Simulate)
  • Process Simulate/Jack/Hand Pak/NIOSH/Snook/Energy Expenditure/RULA
Even better, you may have...
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to support launch programs on extended travel
  • Strong project management skills and result oriented mindset
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Power Point, etc.)
  • 3D CAD review abilities (Teamcenter, Vis Mockup, FEDE, or equivalent)
  • Strong verbal & written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to operate in stressful situations within timing constraints
  • Ability to work with minimal direct supervision
  • Working knowledge of statistics (control charts, data collecting, etc.)
  • Knowledge in the following Ford software systems: AVBOM, WERS, GSPAS/APT, Teamcenter, E2KS, JIRA, CPARS

This position is a salary grade 6 and ranges from $72,480–121,440.

This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $84,480–141,360.

This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $96,720–162,120.

What you’ll do...
  • Deliver ergonomic delivery quality operating system requirements for your specific future model program.
  • Collaborate with product development team to generate facility & tooling costs, improve quality, and reduce labor requirements.
  • Use virtual tools to evaluate the ergonomics of new model designs for high volume assembly operations.
  • Lead identification, resolution, and closure of FAE ergonomic issues.
  • Evaluate tooling, workstations and MPL delivery methods for ergonomic compliance and support tooling and racking buy‑offs @ vendor facilities.
  • Lead identification, resolution, and closure of all launch product and tooling ergonomic issues.
