Job DescriptionThe Ford Electrified Powertrain Engineering team is looking for qualified candidates to perform powertrain calibration duties on Gasoline/Electric Hybrid applications. Calibrators work in a team environment to deliver production‑ready powertrain calibrations on time with efficiency and quality. Responsibilities include laboratory and vehicle development at testing facilities in Michigan, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, and Canada.
Responsibilities- Engine, drivability, or diagnostic powertrain calibration.
- Evaluate and assess vehicle attributes (performance, fuel economy, emissions, drivability) on vehicle, engine dynamometer test cells, and environmental test cells.
- Modify vehicle and powertrain control calibrations to improve fuel economy, performance, emissions, drivability, and diagnostics.
- Conduct vehicle testing and development in Southeast Michigan and at locations in Arizona, Colorado, Florida and Northern Canada.
- Design and conduct tests to validate engine and vehicle fuel economy, performance, emissions, drivability, and diagnostics.
- Review warranty data to identify emerging trends and develop corrective actions.
- B.S. in Engineering (BSME or BSEE) or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience with calibration tools including ETAS and/or ATI, and Matlab.
- 5+ years of calibration experience.
- 15% travel required; responsibilities include laboratory and in‑vehicle development at testing facilities in Michigan, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, and Canada.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Self‑motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Combustion engine aftertreatment experience.
- Strong statistical knowledge.
- Familiarity with emission regulatory requirements worldwide.
- Hybrid calibration experience.
- Ability to read and understand Simulink flow diagrams and C programming source code.
