The Lincoln Design Studio is searching for a passionate and experienced Senior Exterior Designer to join our team in Dearborn. The designer will work on both advanced and production programs, translating ideas into compelling sketches, renderings, and 3D digital models to provide winning design solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Think creatively, strategically, and analytically.
  • Create compelling and innovative exterior or interior design experiences and visions for Design Projects.
  • Work collaboratively in a team to achieve holistic design visions.
  • Develop future brand‑focused design visions.
  • Span digital and physical delivery (software and hardware).
  • Solve problems around connectivity, mobility, and consumer segments.
  • Mentor junior designers.
  • Lead programs from concept to final production.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Transportation Design, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of automotive or transportation design experience in an OEM, including final design product execution and internships with transportation design companies.
  • Demonstrated creative exterior design perceptions and capability. A design portfolio must be provided upon application.
  • Ability to interpret customer needs and global trends into compelling design.
  • Work independently and provide strong technical aesthetic judgment to lead team members.
  • Awareness of global automotive and consumer electronics to ensure competitive design.
  • Collaborate with engineering, suppliers, and partners to progress design development.
  • Exceptional design intuition, strong problem‑solving skills, and superior visual communication through sketches and renderings.
  • Translate 2D to 3D and think three‑dimensionally with emphasis on proportions and refined sense of form.
  • Stay informed about design trends across automotive, fashion, architectural, and other disciplines.
  • Outstanding teamwork, leadership, visual, written, and verbal communication skills.
