Job Overview

Custom Foods is the leading frozen dough manufacturer in De Soto, KS. We employ Great Dough Heroes and are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team. The technician will perform routine and preventative maintenance, repairs to ensure food safety, and oversee minor and major repairs of all building equipment. Collaboration with the Operations Team to ensure machines are operational and meet production schedules is essential.

A background in electricity is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment, inspecting belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, greasing bearings, and seals.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly equipment checks and maintain records.
  • Ensure timely completion of facility repairs.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests and document maintenance activities.
  • Assist with building renovations, remodeling, painting, and new equipment installation.
  • Obtain estimates for supplies and repair parts, and manage parts ordering.
  • Maintain vendor relationships.
  • Follow GMP policies and ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and defense standards.
Qualifications
  • Certification in mechanical engineering or a related field preferred, or 4+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems maintenance.
  • Familiarity with parametric and industrial control systems.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and manage time effectively.
Work Schedule

This position is on the second shift, approximately 3 pm to 1 am.
