Lead Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic (Truck Shop) 2nd Shift

De Queen, Arkansas

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to oversee and perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.

• Must be out of 60‑day probation.
• Six month’s experience with Pilgrims De Queen required.
• Must have a good attendance record with 2 points or less.
• Oversee, from a mechanical standpoint, truck equipment.
• Perform PM on the equipment.
• Prepare work orders for any defects found during the PM inspection.
• Must be able to work safely.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Oversee daily shop operations.
• Repair and maintain all systems of a Class 8 tractor (we do not perform major engine repairs).
• Perform DOT inspections.
• Replace filters, brakes, and tires as necessary.
• Perform electrical diagnosis.
• Diagnose problems and repair as needed.
• Communicate with drivers to address maintenance issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance.
• Work and daily jobs will be assigned by the Service Manager.

• Able to work nights and weekends.
• Ability to work walking/standing for long periods of time.
• Must be dependable.
• Ability to work without close supervision.

Vocational School preferred.
