Position Summary

Borden Dairy is seeking a safety‑conscious and quality‑focused professional to join our team as a Maintenance Technician. In this dynamic role, you will install, maintain, and repair production and manufacturing equipment. Inspects equipment for proper functioning and performs preventative maintenance duties per manufacturer's specifications.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform BASIC preventative maintenance inspection and service on all production and manufacturing equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company guidelines.
  • Perform BASIC troubleshooting, diagnosis, repair, and maintain equipment to the desired company performance standards.
  • Interface, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electronic computerized systems and equipment.
  • Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
  • Comply with all company work and safety rules and regulatory compliance rules and regulations.
  • Use all personal protective equipment in compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Possess the necessary personal tools to perform duties.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • One‑year certificate from a college or technical school, or one year of related experience and/or training in manufacturing equipment maintenance and repair; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English; capable of performing basic mathematical calculations and accurately recording data.
  • Bilingual skills beneficial.
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and various shifts as required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast‑paced, dynamic environments.
  • Strong analytical skills and systematic approach to troubleshooting and problem solving is required.
Preferred Experience or Certification
  • Basic electrical systems (e.g., starters, fuses, contacts, relays).
  • Conveyors (air cylinders, diverters, sensors, motor/speed controls).
  • Gearing and gear boxes (rebuilds, ordering parts, machining parts).
  • Hydraulic systems (high pressure cylinders, pumps, valves, troubleshooting).
  • Preventative maintenance (computerized preventative charts/data).
  • Pumps (e.g., troubleshooting, replacing seals/motors, understanding specs).
  • Review rating instructions.
  • PLC, HVAC, Ammonia, Refrigeration, or other specialty certifications preferred but not required.
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to frequently stand, walk, kneel, reach, climb, pull, and bend with full range of motion.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 lbs, with typical lifting requirements up to 50 lbs; occasionally required to lift and/or move items exceeding 100 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in hot and cold climates, both indoors and outdoors.
