We are looking to onboard an Endpoint (Desktop) Engineer for a long term 6-12 months+ onsite role with our client in De Pere, WI. They need to hire a Sr. Endpoint contractor to not only provide Level III escalated support to helpdesk/desktop team, but also focus most of the time on ongoing projects and systems administration. Looking for someone with very good MECM skills, M365 (especially Sharepoint), Powershell Automation, and if possible someone with some exposure already to Google Workspace (just a nice to have).
This role will need to sit onsite 4 days per week in De Pere along with 1 remote day of their choosing. The contract starts for 6 months with high likelihood of extending out for 12+ months given the amount of work slated over the next year. They have 3000 endpoints (500 laptops, 800 desktops, and the rest are POS systems at the 40+ grocery store locations).
The End User Technology Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and support of end user technology solutions the organization. This includes defining hardware and software standards, engineering secure device images, managing software deployment and patching processes, and overseeing the full lifecycle of end user devices.
This role will also administer key IT support tools and ensure consistent, secure, and efficient delivery of desktop and mobile technology along with being the primary escalation point for the Service Desk Technicians. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, technically proficient, and passionate about enhancing the end user experience through scalable and supportable IT solutions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for overall design, strategy, delivery and maintenance of end user technology.
Provides strategic, innovative and cost-effective solutions to increase efficiency, reliability, and integration of our EUT services and operations
Evaluate and define end user hardware and software standards (configuration roduct selection).
Own end user software distribution and management for various device and operating systems.
Serve as an escalation point for the IT Service Desk for End User hardare and software support (Level
2).
Coach and mentor Service Desk team members to promote skill development, accountability, and growth
Identify KPIs to ensure optimal end user technology operations and alignment with the needs of the business.
Create, test and develop standard workstation and mobile device images.
Test, evaluate, and package software and patches for workstation and tablet distribution.
Research, diagnose and resolve production problems such as defects, questionable functions, errors, and inconsistencies in systems functions, outputs, and content
Perform upgrades / maintenance activities as well as troubleshoot system issues
Internalize customer feedback, and follow up with customer to ensure problems are solved by providing innovative ideas to meet their future needs
Package, test and deploy engineering software packages and updates to the end-user environment using SCCM or Intune
Create and maintain workflow design of Group Policy Objects (GPOs) managing the security and configuration of the Windows desktop OS
Create and maintain Apple Business Manager and Intune configurations and deployments for the organizations Mac OS devices
Create scripting solutions within Power Shell for automation and other administrative needs
Provide expert consulting services along with testing, evaluation, and recommendations of hardware systems and software to meet end-user needs
Configure and manage the organization SharePoint environment.
Participate in the IT on-call rotation, including after-hours critical incident response and travel to support sites on short notice when necessary
Perform other duties and special projects as defined

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in professional experience.
Eight (8) plus years of progressive Service Desk and r End User Technology engineering experience
Expert level experience designing, implementing, and maintaining Windows and Mac OS desktop environments
5+ years MECM (SCCM) experience managing software distribution, Windows imaging and patch management.
5+ years Intune modern workspace experience.
3+ years SharePoint Online or Google Drive experience.
3+ Years experience with Mobile Device Management solutions
Moderate to expert automation experience (e.g. PS scripting)
Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills.
Demonstrated proficiency with decision-making skills, excellent problem-solving, diagnostic, and technical troubleshooting skills, Developing Power Shell scripts to automate tasks
