- Acts as front‑line point of contact to ensure delivery of quality customer service.
- Safely operates buses through light to heavy city and freeway traffic.
- Delivers passengers safely and courteously according to specified routes, making only designated stops in the prescribed order.
- Complies with all federal, state, and local laws regarding bus operation, traffic, and safety.
- Ensures the highest quality of bus service is delivered to customers.
- Assists customers in a safe, friendly, courteous, and helpful manner, including customers with disabilities and use of wheelchair lifts.
- Promotes safety awareness and follows safety procedures to reduce or eliminate accidents.
- Complies with company safety rules and operates assigned vehicles to meet customer standards.
- Operates all equipment safely and efficiently, including farebox, lift, radio, emergency equipment, hatches, and rear engine compartment door.
- Performs pre‑trip inspection and completes DVIR in accordance with FMCSR.
- Coordinates detour, accident, and incident information to radio dispatch and follows instructions.
- Makes independent decisions and manages conflicts based on safety, experience, training, and policies.
- Follows procedures for fare collection, processing, and documentation of passengers.
- Reports and properly follows up on all accidents or unusual incidents in, on, or near RATP Dev vehicles.
- Other duties as required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age and have a commercial driver’s license (CDL) for at least 3 years, passing a DOT physical exam.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Provide information to passengers courteously and efficiently.
- Properly operate small bus/van over the prescribed route following a manifest.
- Complete daily manifest including pick‑up and drop‑off times and odometer readings.
- Assist passengers with disabilities and secure wheelchairs.
- Operate lift and prepare written reports on accidents and incidents.
- Work flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Possess or be able to obtain a CDL Class B permit or license with passenger endorsement; CDL training provided.
- Operate bus over prescribed route following time schedule.
Non‑CDL driver receives $1,000.00 after 6 months and $500.00 after 12 months. Fully licensed CDL driver receives $2,000.00 after 6 months and $1,000.00 after 12 months. Dispatchers, Operations Supervisors, and Mechanics who are fully licensed receive the same $2,000.00 bonus incentive.
