A Meat Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market is responsible for providing high‑level customer service, practicing safe food handling procedures, and maintaining a high level of product knowledge and preparation techniques. The role includes receiving and storing meat, grinding meats, unloading and transporting fresh, cured, and boxed meats and poultry from delivery trucks, counting and weighing incoming articles, examining meats in storage and rotating them to avoid aging, assisting customers with questions and special orders, and performing general housekeeping in the department.

The Meat Clerk follows our "Clean as You Go" and "Fresh at 4" programs and adheres to all procedural guidelines set by the Meat Department. If you thrive in a fast‑paced environment, we want to hear from you!

• Be at least 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and possess basic math, weights and measures knowledge.
• Be dependable, reliable, and able to perform related duties as assigned.
• Possess an outgoing, friendly personality with a positive attitude and the ability to interact with customers.
• Work a flexible schedule that may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Have good communication skills and the ability to take direction and participate in a team environment.
• Perform general housekeeping, clean and sanitize work area (tables, floor, walls, cases, cooler, freezer).
• Adhere to all safety, health, weights & measures regulations, and company recipes.
• Stand continuously for up to 4 hours and shift length of 8 hours (walk up to 2 miles per shift).
• Operate in temperature‑controlled areas and perform general housekeeping.
• Have good vision for using sharp knives, band saw, grinder, sausage maker, box cutter, wrapping machine, and tenderizer.
• Lift/carry horizontally or vertically between 25–90 lbs. from 4–60″, up to 10 feet for 20 hours.
• Use pallet jack to move pallets up to 500 lbs. over 100 feet for up to 5 hours.
• Move racks weighing up to 70 lbs. over 50 feet for up to 10 hours.
• Move tables weighing up to 70 lbs. over 2 feet for up to 1 hour.
