If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! Mama Foo Foo is currently seeking a skilled Line Cook to join our dynamic team.
As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals, as well as maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area. This is a vital role in our food service operations, ensuring that our guests receive high-quality meals in a safe and sanitary environment.
Responsibilities:- Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and portion sizes
- Ensure food is cooked to the appropriate temperature and meets food safety standards
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other cooking utensils
- Follow proper food handling procedures to prevent cross-contamination
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred
- Knowledge of food safety practices and procedures
- Familiarity with menu planning and meal preparation techniques
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, and fryers
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards
- Food handling:
Knowledge of proper food handling techniques to ensure safety and prevent contamination. - Food safety:
Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment. - Food service:
Experience working in a food service setting, following recipes, portioning meals, and serving customers. - Knife skills:
Proficiency in using knives for chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients. - Dietary aide:
Familiarity with dietary restrictions and modifications for special diets. - Catering:
Experience in catering events or functions, including meal preparation and presentation. - Dietary department:
Understanding of the operations within a dietary department in a healthcare or hospitality setting. - Cook:
Ability to prepare and cook meals according to recipes and portion sizes. - Food industry:
Knowledge of the food industry, including trends, regulations, and best practices. - Menu planning:
Ability to assist with menu planning, considering dietary needs, preferences, and budget constraints.
