Overview
The Vice President of Development (fundraising) serves as a key strategic leader, guiding the Development Team in designing, implementing, and supporting all fundraising initiatives for a non-profit organization that supports Volusia-Flagler counties. This position provides vision, direction, and oversight for all development activities — including annual campaigns, major gifts, planned giving, and community engagement — to achieve organizational, departmental, and individual goals.
The VP of Development ensures alignment with the organization’s strategic plan, fosters a culture of philanthropy, and equips the team to prioritize efforts that maximize impact.
- Drives Revenue & Impact:
Develop and communicate the strategy and vision for organizational fundraising campaigns, aligning annual development goals with the strategic plan. - Drives Revenue & Impact:
Guide the Development Team in setting goals, prioritizing tasks, and managing resources to meet revenue targets and advance mission impact. - Drives Revenue & Impact:
Utilize the CSuite database to record, monitor, and evaluate donor engagement activities. - Drives Revenue & Impact:
Support fund development presentations and donor engagement strategies, including Foundation products and planned giving efforts. - Drives Revenue & Impact:

- Bachelor’s degree in related field or seven to ten years of relevant experience.
- Proven ability to set strategy, articulate vision, and translate big-picture goals into actionable plans.
- Demonstrated emotional maturity and sound judgment in decision-making and communication.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team toward results.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, including prioritization of competing demands.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Ability to establish relationships with corporations, businesses, and donors.
- High degree of professional integrity to handle confidential information ethically.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and donor database systems.
- Valid driver’s license and access to an insured motor vehicle.
- Work is carried out in a controlled, agreeable environment as generally represented by normal office conditions.
- Employees may be required to assist with or attend various offsite events related to programs or fund raising that are scheduled evenings and/or weekends.
- These events may require several hours on your feet and assisting with heavy lifting and carrying.
