The Opportunity Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University seeks a dynamic fundraiser to join the Office of Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement as Executive Director of Philanthropy for the Worldwide Campus. The Executive Director identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards major gifts from alumni and community partners. The role provides leadership and coordination to the campus in approaching donors for major gifts and works closely with academic leadership, faculty, and development colleagues.

Responsibilities include developing and implementing fundraising strategies, preparing compelling proposals, and building/maintaining relationships with booster supporters.

Reporting to the Senior Executive Director of Philanthropy-Worldwide and collaborating with Worldwide campus leadership, the Executive Director charts the course for campus-wide fundraising success and cultivates relationships with alumni, foundations, and corporate partners.

This is an opportunity to contribute to Embry-Riddle’s legacy by guiding philanthropy at the Worldwide campus and supporting military-affiliated students and veterans through fundraising partnerships.

Key Responsibilities
  • 70% Major gifts. Manage a portfolio of 75–150 major prospects, conducting discovery, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. Target $1–$2M in annual philanthropic support. Engage donors through print/electronic communication, calls, events, and face-to-face visits. Track progress in Salesforce following ERAU prospect management guidelines. Develop long-term strategies for each prospect and collaborate with division colleagues to achieve donor engagement goals. Work with the Worldwide Chancellor and leadership to execute giving strategies for assigned prospects.
  • 15% Unit liaison. Coordinate development activities within the Worldwide campus and assist central advancement efforts (annual giving, communications, data acquisition, planned giving, donor relations, and impact reporting). Advise the Chancellor on philanthropic policies and best practices. Build strong relationships with campus administrators, faculty, and staff to support fundraising goals.
  • 15% Collaboration and communication. Translate complex scientific concepts into donor-friendly proposals, prepare fundraising updates, and ensure donor engagement. Stay informed about university outreach events and coordinate with stewardship and communications teams to produce reports, letters, and donor-related materials. Initiate development events for donors and prospective donors as appropriate.

    Required Education and

    Qualifications:

    A bachelor’s degree is required (foreign equivalent acceptable). Ten (10) years of full-time fundraising experience in higher education, a complex healthcare system, or a large nonprofit.
