What You Will Have an Opportunity To DoWe are looking for someone passionate about the culinary arts to join our culinary team. This individual must be creative, motivated, and eager to grow their talents in the kitchen.
Successful candidates will have previous experience working in a professional kitchen environment, with a strong desire to learn, develop skills, and work with the culinary leadership team.
The Banquet Chef assists the Executive Chef in production and fabrication of food products for kitchen preparation and banquet cooking.
Your Role- Prepares, seasons, and cooks food for banquets.
- Carves portions of meat, fish, or fowl for individual servings.
- Assists with menus and estimating required food quantities, labor, and overhead costs.
- Collaborates with Sales, Catering, and Banquet Team to ensure client happiness.
- Attends BEO Meetings.
- Assists in maintaining inventory.
- Utilizes and recreates recipes.
- Maintains consistency in all food preparation.
- Minimizes food waste through cross‑utilization.
- Works with a world‑class culinary team.
- Creates workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment.
- Keeps a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen.
- Ensures all food and other items are stored properly.
- Responsible for the quality of ingredients.
- High school or GED equivalent required; formal culinary training or associate degree in culinary arts preferred.
- Minimum 3 years cooking experience in a hotel environment or large catering/event venue.
- Ability to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room employees, and guests.
- Safe Food Handling Certification.
- Experience calculating figures and amounts, performing mathematical functions to meet business needs.
- Knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment use.
- Flexible scheduling to meet hotel demands.
- Friendly, outgoing, and willing to engage guests in conversation.
- Strong work ethic and desire to succeed.
- Ability to handle comments and suggestions.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift, pull, and push up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and squat, kneel, and bend for short periods.
Compensation: $28.00–$32.00 per hour. Actual compensation packages vary based on skill set, experience, certifications, and location.
