Job SummaryAdjunct faculty are responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or graduate Criminal Justice courses in face‑to‑face, hybrid, or online formats. Candidates must demonstrate subject‑matter expertise, effective teaching practices, and a commitment to student success.
Duties/Responsibilities- Teach assigned Criminal Justice courses
- Prepare syllabi and course materials aligned with departmental standards
- Utilize the institution’s Learning Management System
- Maintain accurate records of grades and attendance
- Provide timely feedback and hold required office hours
- Comply with university policies and academic integrity standards
- Master’s degree in Criminal Justice or a closely related field
- Minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Criminal Justice
- College‑level teaching experience or relevant professional experience in the field
- Doctoral degree in Criminal Justice or related discipline
- Experience teaching online and/or hybrid courses
- Expertise in areas such as Criminology, Corrections, Policing, Criminal Law, Research, Methods, Juvenile Justice, or Criminal Justice Reform
- Working environment is a normal business office setting
- Demands normal manual dexterity and visual and auditory acuity
- Must be mobile throughout the campus
- Typically the incumbent may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, or carrying light items
