Required Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in education, business administration, recreation, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in accordance with Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
  • Two (2) years related experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plans and implements departmental co-curricular programs and activities that reflect student interests and support institutional values and goals. Provides assistance and support to Student Life with student organizations in planning and implementing campus and community service events and activities at all campuses. Supports efforts to create opportunities for students to develop leadership, teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Assists with the residence hall application process, offer process, documentation, room assignments and any other student housing processes. Assists with residence hall check in, check out and building operations processes as required for student residents. Supports the functions of non-student resident housing operations including room assignments and other processes. Serve as a member of the on-call team for the student housing.
  • Provides effective and efficient communications for Student Life via email, text message, phone, social media, and in-person to meet departmental needs. Supports departmental efforts to promote co-curricular activities in print and online media. Respond to inquiries and/or concerns from students, staff, or the public to solve problems or discrepancies.
  • Collaborates with other areas and departments to facilitate successful Student Life operations, including but not limited to Student Accounts, Financial Aid, Academic Advising, Records and Registration, Academic Affairs, Athletics, Campus Safety. Attend staff meetings to exchange information. Attend professional seminars and/or conferences to improve professional skills.
  • Compiles information, maintains records and creates, maintains, and generates various Student Life reports as needed and requested. Assists with People Soft business processes as required for Student Life operations. Researches and troubleshoots areas that need development and improvement.
  • Assists with intramural sports events and activities. Manages the set up and maintenance of supplies and equipment for student programs and activities. Assist with Awards Ceremonies such as the annual Awards Convocation and Commencement.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Requires proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Requires ability to compile information, maintain records, and create, maintain, and generate various Student Life reports.
  • Requires excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Must have excellent customer service.
  • Must have strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Light office work and some heavy lifting during special events.
  • Requires work that involves walking or standing some of the time, exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a recurring basis.
  • Requires routine keyboard operations.
  • This position will experience exposure to indoor and outdoor temperatures.
