Faculty in this position will integrate faith and learning in the classroom and will demonstrate excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service while supporting the mission to “educate students to become servants of Christ to make a difference in today’s world.” Faculty should possess a strong academic background, a passion for student engagement, and a commitment to a Biblical worldview. Faculty will teach undergraduate courses, mentor students academically and spiritually, and contribute to curriculum development.
Faculty will actively participate in departmental, college and community activities as appropriate. Faculty will have the opportunity to shape students’ intellectual and spiritual growth within a vibrant, Christ-centered academic community.
Adjustments to teaching responsibilities may be made in accordance with the college’s workload policy based on the type of courses to which adjunct faculty are assigned and the extent of their responsibilities in other areas. All Bryan faculty are expected to follow the policies, guidelines and instructions in the Bryan College Faculty Handbook.
Reports to:
Chair of the Business Department
- Minimum of a master’s degree in field of study, terminal degree preferred.
- Previous college teaching experience preferred.
- Teach a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester, provide timely feedback and grades to students, and work with the department chair in organizing courses.
- Prepare course plans and materials
- Serve students – advising, recruitment, and retention
- Keep weekly office hours to support student success and to personalize instruction.
- Support the Mission of the College through service on committees or through additional non-teaching initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned
- Knowledge of principles, methods and current developments in the academic discipline and in professional practice.
- Preference will be given to applicants with expertise in business analytics and management, but all specializations are encouraged to apply.
- Knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques appropriate to teaching the courses assigned
- Ability to create a syllabus and effectively deliver the learning objectives of the course.
- Ability to advise, instruct, manage, motivate, and evaluate students.
- Ability to learn relevant sections of Bright Space, Bryan College’s online learning management system.
- Ability to effectively and appropriately integrate technology into the teaching and learning process.
- Ability to successfully interact with students, other educators and educational institution representatives, and the general public in a professional manner.
- Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be committed to serving Him and His church.
